Miss Gehringer's Page

Dear Kindergarten Families,

My name is Gabe Gehringer and I will be your child’s teacher for Kindergarten and First Grade.  I am very excited to have your child in my class for the next two years as we get to know our classmates and grow together!

I graduated from Iowa State University in May 2010, with an Elementary Education degree and an endorsement in Mathematics.  I am currently working towards my Reading endorsement through Viterbo University.  I student taught in the first and fifth grade in the Norwalk District last school year and then was offered the Kindergarten/First Grade looping position.  I am very excited to be part of the Norwalk Community School District!  I live in St. Marys, where I grew up and graduated from Martensdale-St. Marys.  I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and being outdoors.

Kindergarten will be a busy year for all of us!  We will learn to discover and explore all sorts of new things.  As a class, we will learn more about ourselves and our friends.  Our goal in Kindergarten is to prepare your children as the become readers and writers.  We will also learn all about numbers and the importance of them as we will be using them in our everyday lives.  I am very passionate about learning and I want to share that with your children and hopefully teaching them how important it is to love to learn!

I believe that parent/teacher communication is very important for your child’s success.  Newsletters, telephone calls, notes, and visits from you are excellent ways for this communication to occur, in addition to our website.  Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Miss Gehringer
